Morrie Schwartz, this is one extraordinary man. From the book, I know I should have expected him to be as much but he really is something else. Honestly, I wasn't expecting him to be as much, I was thinking of a little old man who may be a little off the rocker with all these philosophies but he really isn't. Morrie has accepted that he is dying and is making the most of his remaining life.
Thinking about it, I don't think I know of anyone who would be that okay with knowing that their body was slowly becoming useless. I know that for sure I wouldn't be okay and accept it. I really don't know what I was expecting out of Morrie from the book but to me, he was more than I was expecting. Morrie is a man that I would've liked to have been taught by. I think I could've learned a lot of things from him.

Part of Morrie's selflessness is a peace which he has made with himself. Think about it Jess, he has lived a full life and done and accomplished so many things. You state that you "don't know of anyone who would be that okay with knowing that their body was slowly becoming useless" which I totally agree with. My question is, how many people do you know who have done and seen and learned as much as Morrie. This is different than some teen learning they have cancer or something of that nature. Not to take away from Morrie, his life or story, but have the ability to look back over a life lived is helpful when staring death in the face. I'm just saying. :)
